Lighting Exterior Lantern
Creating a warm welcome to the appropriate size lamp in the front entrance.
Possibly more important than style and finish of their lights again the choice of the appropriate size for the proportion to rise in front of his house and visibility from a distance, like from the street. Outside lights always seems to be the right size when standing by the door of his home ... but how could appear from a distance?
Here are some guidelines to help to make the right decision:
The height of a lantern should be based on the height of the door. if a flashlight on one side is used should be approximately one third (1 / 3) the size of the door. If two sides are used lamps should be about one quarter (1 / 4) the size of the door. If a lantern style with a long tail or displacement is used, beware of the total mass of the apparatus, and the height should approximate one half (1 / 2) the height of the door.
Flashlights should be mounted so that the filament is approximately 66 "above the doorway. Depending on the location of the outlet box, different styles mounting arm (on the top or bottom) can be selected to do the right filament.
Track important, not what they do not reach their flashlights. as generally outside front entrance lamps will be half the size of 50 feet. try to visualize the lights in the distance, like their neighbors and friends can see on the street.
Remember, a first impression is long lasting.
